ACKERMAN SFC INTERIOR BRANDING

Ackerman SFC was constructed in 2007. Over budget at the time, staff made the decision not to invest in interior design, resulting in a beige, bland, and underwhelming experience when entering the facility.

In late 2017, a capital improvement budget of $25,000 was approved to enhance the facility’s atmosphere and aesthetic, as well as, to better utilize the space for activity and athletic program promotion. Improvements were focused on high-visibility areas including the front desk, lower level hallway, birthday party room, and indoor turf.

A high priority was placed on using bright colors and photos from Glen Ellyn Park District programs which showcased diversity of age, gender, and race.
